winter in Torres del Paine is an amazing oportunity to enjoy of one of the most incredible rock formations of the world with snow , The Paine Massif is a geological formation that is shape by glaciers rivers and strong winds , this famouse National Park is mostly visited during the Summer so the Winter give us the chance of have  a unique experience , winter has more stable weather conditions and less wind but also snow and ice so the trails become a magical pass that take us to visit the 3 main areas of the front side , the Grey Glacier area, the French valley , and the Asencio Valley in our way to The base of the Towers.

Day 1: Las Torres
Day 2: Los Cuernos
Day 3: Valle Frances
Day 4: Glaciar Grey

ITINERARY

Day 1

Hike to Base las Torres:

Private transportation from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine, that day the gold is to visit one of the most iconic views of the park, this trail is one of the most demanding,  you and your guide will left all the heavy backpacks in the campsite so you go light, enjoy the snowy trails and with crampons walk the 10 km. up untill the lookout. After a hot drink and a boxlunch, come back folowing the same trail all the way down to spend the nigth in Central Campsite, 20 km in total.

Food is included and your guide will be in charge of cooking. (If there is more than 2 pax there is going to be a porter-cook to help you, if there is 4 pax it will be 2 porters and one guide) 

 

Day 2

Chileno to Cuernos, camping in Cuernos:

This day is about 12 km, following the trail at the base of the massif and along Nordensjkold Lake, amazing views off the Andes and this granite-sedimentary walls, once you get to Cuernos, you and your guide will decide if you go for the extra hour and a half to Frances Campsite. This option will give you more time next day to explore the French Valley. Camping and cooking in a safe leave no trace way.

 

Day 3

Cuernos to explore the French Valley and nigth inside Paine Grande Lodge:

Walk for 1 hour to Italiano Rangers camp, from there the hike is all the way up, wether conditions and your guide experience will decide how far up you can go that day. Days are short in winter and you still have some walk to next refuge, 8-10 hours 20 km app.

Once you get to Paine Grande you can go for a hot shower and a nice meal inside.

Full bed and full board is included.

 

Day 4

From Paine Grande to the Grey Glaciar and back to Paine Grande:

After breakfast you will go to finish the last leg of the W Circuit, Paine Grande-Grey-Paine Grande.

22 km of the best views of the southern icefields. Paine Grande is the bigest mountain in the area but also you will se the Andes running along the trail in front of you. Nigth in Paine Grande. In winter there is also the option of sleep in Refuge Grey and take next day the navegation to see the glaciar and get out of the circuit using this boat. Check with us if you will like that option, it doesnt goes everyday, (wensday and sundays for sure). Finish your day with a hot shower and a warm bed, full board is included. 

 

Day 5

Paine Grande-Las Carretas to Administracion private transfer:

From Paine Grande and after an incredible adventure you must hike the last 5 hours using Las Carretas trail where it will be your transportation waiting for you or if there is boat crossing that day we will be at the other side ready to take you and your guide back to town to your hotel or hostel.

Include: All transportation, catamaran tickets, all food, acomodations, park entrance, Guide and porters.

Not include: Insuranse ,trekking poles and personal equipment

Torres del Paine has a high population of Pumas,an encounter is posible, follow the instruccions of park rangers and guides, if you are by your self just keep distance, give him space and enjoy the moment.
